ABOUT THE OCEAN LITERACY DIALOGUES

OCEAN LITERACY DIALOGUE STREAMS

  • STREAM 1: Ocean Literacy Research

Ocean Literacy research is an interdisciplinary field which explores the diverse dimensions, drivers, influences, and impacts of ocean literacy initiatives across different social, economic, cultural, political, and geographic contexts.

  • STREAM 2: Ocean Education

Flowing the conversations taking place inside the Congress out into the streets. Ocean Festival activations, live-streaming to classrooms across Canada and the world, and networking with early career ocean professionals provide opportunities to learn, get involved, and inspire action.

  • STREAM 3: Ocean Art & Storytelling

This vibrant interactive cultural program fosters individual and collective ocean advocacy through creative action, featuring an installation of art works by Canadian visual and performing artists, storytelling events, and film screenings.

About the Ocean Festival

As part of IMPAC5, an Ocean Festival including artists, creators, educators, and storytellers will be engaging the public, in-person in Vancouver and online, galvanizing understanding of and support for ocean conservation.
