Ocean Literacy as a Policy Tool (STREAM 1)

Positioned as a path towards transformation within the UN Ocean Decade, this session will examine how ocean literacy can be positioned as a mechanism for policy change.

Key questions which will be discussed include exploring how ocean literacy can be communicated effectively to policy audiences so that funding streams and programs of work relating to ocean literacy are supported. The session will also examine how and if ocean literacy can be integrated into cross policy areas (e.g. health, education, transport) and will seek examples of best practice and lessons learned from attendees.
